NEW YORK — A number of President-elect Donald Trump 's most prominent Cabinet picks and appointees have been targeted by bomb threats and “swatting attacks," Trump's transition team said Wednesday. The FBI said it was investigating.

The Trump transition team said Wednesday that several of President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet and administration picks were targeted in overnight attacks that ranged from " swatting" incidents to bomb threats.

A wave of bomb threats and swatting attacks was aimed at some of President-elect Trump's cabinet picks and other appointees, according to Trump transition officials. The FBI and local law enforcement were investigating.

Rep. Elise Stefanik and former Rep. Lee Zeldin were two New Yorkers among the Trump administration picks who faced bomb threats and 'swatting' calls.

The FBI said the incidents were aimed at numerous people tapped for roles in the incoming administration of president-elect Donald Trump.
